Wedding guest interviews
Wedding guest wishes and interview videos in Connecticut
Short interviews with your guests, recorded during the wedding, so you can hear what the people you love wanted to say to you.
What a guest wishes video is
A guest wishes video is a collection of short, recorded moments in which guests answer a few questions or speak to the couple. They might share a memory, a piece of advice or a wish for the future. The result is a video you can watch years later and hear from the people who were there.
It is separate from the main wedding film. The main film follows the day. A guest video gives your guests their own voice.
Why it needs two videographers
Interviews take attention. One videographer sets up, asks questions and listens. If the same person is also supposed to cover the ceremony, the toasts or the dance floor, one of the two jobs suffers.
So when guest interviews are recorded alongside event coverage, we require at least two videographers. One focuses on interviews, and one covers the event. Photographers are a separate role and do not count toward this minimum.
If you want only interviews with no event coverage, that is scoped differently. Tell us which you want and we will plan accordingly.
One videographer interviews
Sets up in a quiet spot, asks the questions and keeps the guests comfortable.
One videographer covers the event
Stays with the ceremony, the toasts and the moments of the day.
Photographers are separate
Photographers take photos. They do not take on either video role.

Planning the interviews
Good interviews depend on a few simple choices made early. We talk with you about who you would like to hear from, what you want to ask and when in the day it makes sense.
The questions
A few purposeful questions work better than a long list. Examples are a favorite memory of the couple, advice for the marriage or a wish for the future.
The place
A quiet corner with decent light and little background noise, away from the loudest part of the reception.
The timing
A window during cocktail hour or between events when guests are relaxed and available.
The guests
A short list of people you would especially like to hear from, plus an open invitation for others.
Heartfelt questions that bring out real stories
Most of what guests say on camera is heartfelt. People tell the story of how they met you, a memory they have kept for years, or what they see in the two of you together. We keep the prompts warm and open so guests can answer in their own words.
If your family loves to laugh, we can add a lighter question or two. That is a choice for each couple, not the starting point.
A favorite memory
"Tell us about a moment with them that you still think about."
What they mean to you
"What do you see in them that you hope never changes?"
Well wishes
"What do you wish for them in the years ahead?"
A few words of advice
"What has made your own relationships last?"
Without missing the event
The reason for the second videographer is simple. While interviews are being recorded, the wedding keeps moving. The second videographer stays with the program, so the interviews do not come at the cost of the ceremony, the toasts or the first dance.
We do not promise to film every moment of a wedding. We aim for broad coverage and intentional focus, and the two-person plan makes sure the interview and the event each get proper attention.
What you receive
The edited guest interviews can be delivered as a single video, as separate short clips, or both, depending on what we agree beforehand. We confirm the format and the length before the wedding.
Combined video and photo coverage
If you want video and photos together, that is planned with dedicated photographers and dedicated videographers, with one or more of each. The guest interview plan sits alongside that team.
Common questions
How many videographers do guest interviews require?
When interviews are recorded alongside event coverage, at least two videographers: one for interviews and one for the event. Photographers do not count toward this.
Can you record only interviews?
Yes, but that is scoped differently from interviews plus event coverage. Tell us what you want and we will plan it.
What questions should we ask guests?
A few simple ones, such as a favorite memory, a piece of advice or a wish for the couple. We help you choose.
When are interviews recorded?
Usually in a quiet window such as cocktail hour. We choose the time with you.
How do we receive the interviews?
As one edited video, separate clips, or both. We confirm this before the wedding.
How do we get started?
Contact us with your date and venue and tell us you would like guest interviews.
