Engagement videos

Engagement video production in Connecticut

A short film about the two of you, made before the wedding, in a place that matters, shaped by how the two of you met and what you want to say.

What an engagement video is

An engagement video is a short film about the two of you, recorded before the wedding. It might include a conversation about how you met, time together in a favorite place and a few quiet moments. It is a way to hold on to this stretch of your life, apart from the busyness of wedding day.

It is different from an engagement photo session, which gives you still images. A video lets people hear your voices and see how you are together. Many couples do both, and we can plan them on the same day.

Start with your story

We begin by asking about the two of you: how you met, what you do together, what you are looking forward to. The answers decide what we film and how it is edited. A couple who met hiking will want a different film from a couple who met in a city office.

We keep the questions simple and purposeful, so the conversation feels natural.

Questions before you decide?

Tell us about your story and your wedding date, and we will suggest a plan.

Choosing a place and a time

Pick a place you would go even if nobody were filming. It might be a trail, a shoreline, a favorite restaurant or your own home. Light matters, so we help you choose a time of day that suits the location.

If your place has rules about filming or photography, please check them and share what you learn with us before the day.

What can come out of one session

A single recording day can be planned to produce more than one result, depending on what you want.

  • A short film

A few minutes that tell your story, with your voices and the places you chose.

  • A save the date clip

A shorter piece sized to share with guests.

  • A wedding day screening

A film you can show at the rehearsal dinner or reception, if you want it.

  • Photos from the same day

If you add photography, a photographer works beside the videographer as a separate role.

How it fits with wedding coverage

If we are also covering your wedding, the engagement session is a chance to get to know each other and see how we work. Nothing about it is required. Some couples book only the engagement film.

Common questions

How is an engagement video different from engagement photos?

Photos give you still images. A video lets people hear and see you together. Many couples do both on the same day.

Do we need to book wedding coverage too?

No. An engagement film can be booked on its own.

Can the same session produce a save the date video?

Yes. A shorter clip can be planned from the same recording day.

Where can we film?

Anywhere that matters to you. Please check any location rules and tell us before the day.

How do we start?

Contact us with your wedding date and a few details about how you met. We reply with questions and a plan.
