Photography and videography for political and public affairs events

Documentation of town halls, public meetings, speeches and interviews, planned with your team around access, audio and the outputs you need. We provide production services only.

Who this service is for

Campaigns, elected offices, party committees, advocacy groups, civic organizations and candidates all hold events that deserve a clear record. This service covers photography and video at those events. The scope is documentation: photographs and recordings of what happens at the event. Covering an event, or sharing behind-the-scenes footage, is not an endorsement of any candidate, party or position, and does not imply a government affiliation.

  • Town halls and community forums

Open conversations where the audience, the moderator and the questions matter as much as the speaker.

  • Public meetings

Board, committee or council-style meetings, where a record of what was said may be needed.

  • Speeches and rallies

A podium, a crowd and a program with specific moments that must be captured when they happen.

  • Interviews and one-on-ones

Sit-down conversations for web, press kits or reference, planned for clean audio and a calm setting.

Schedule, run of show and coverage priorities

These events often move on a fixed clock and cannot be repeated. We ask for the run of show early, with arrival times, the order of speakers and any moments that are essential, such as an introduction, a key statement or an audience question.

  • A written agenda or run of show, even if it is a draft.
  • A short list of must-capture moments and must-capture people.
  • A named contact on site who can answer questions during the event.
  • A plan for what happens if the event starts late or changes order.

Questions before you decide?

Share the date, venue, schedule and the photos or video you need, and we will reply with questions and a plan.

Access, permissions and venue rules

Access is arranged by the client or the host, not assumed. A public event may still have rules about where cameras can stand, and some venues require notice or approval. Please confirm with the host or venue what is allowed, and share any approvals or restrictions so we can plan positions and equipment around them.

  • Camera and tripod positions

Where we can set up so we do not block sightlines, exits or press areas.

  • Credentials and building access

Whether names, badges or advance approval are needed for staff to enter.

  • Filming attendees

Whether the event posts signage about recording, and who is comfortable being photographed. We follow the client's guidance.

  • Press and other cameras

How our position works alongside other media and who else will be recording.

Audio at speeches and public meetings

In rooms with a sound system, the cleanest audio often comes from the house system, if it is available and we can connect to it. Otherwise we bring microphones placed close to the speaker. Ambient crowd noise, applause and echo are expected, and we plan what to capture and what to avoid. We cannot promise clean audio from a noisy room, and we tell you what is realistic in advance.

Photo and video outputs

What you receive depends on what you ask for, and we confirm it in writing.

  • Photo gallery

Selected images of speakers, audience and key moments, in web and print sizes.

  • Full recording

A complete, lightly edited recording of a speech or meeting for archive or website use.

  • Highlight edit

A shorter cut of key moments for web and social media.

  • Short clips

Individual statements or answers, cut for platforms and formatted with captions if requested.

Turnarounds and revisions

Timing matters when an event is news. We agree the delivery schedule according to scope: a quick set of photos for the same day is a different job from a finished highlight edit. We will not promise a turnaround until we know the scope, and we tell you if the schedule is too tight for what you want.

Common questions

Does hiring Legend imply an endorsement?

No. Documenting an event is a production service, and neither coverage nor behind-the-scenes footage is an endorsement or a government affiliation.

Who arranges access to the event?

Access is arranged through the client or host, and we follow the venue's rules. Share any approvals or restrictions ahead of time.

Can you film a town hall in full?

Yes, a full recording is one possible output. We discuss audio, camera positions and the venue's rules first.

How fast can you deliver?

Delivery is agreed according to scope. We confirm what is realistic once we know the outputs you want.

Can you cover more than one event?

Yes. Multiple dates can be planned together, with a single plan for audio, positions and deliverables.

How do we begin?

Send the event type, date, location, run of show and the outputs you need. We reply with questions and a plan.
