Gift photo and video sessions
Gifted photo and record sessions videography and photography in Connecticut
A session can be a thoughtful gift for parents marking an anniversary, a couple, grandparents, a new baby or a milestone. You inquire with us, we agree the terms of the gifted session in writing, and the recipient is brought in gently, with or without a surprise. This page shows how video and photography fit together.
A short video session as the gift
A gifted video session is built around people rather than a script. It might be a family keepsake video that gathers a few ambient moments, a short conversation between grandparents and grandchildren, or a spoken message the recipient will want to hear again years from now.
Video is optional scope. We agree at inquiry which pieces belong in the gift, so the session feels natural to the person receiving it.
Family keepsake video
Ambient moments, small gestures and voices of the people the gift is about.
Short interviews
A relaxed conversation with parents or grandparents, guided by simple prompts.
A moving message
A holiday greeting or anniversary note recorded with the people who matter.
A portrait session the recipient can enjoy
A gifted portrait session gives the recipient a gallery of themselves, together, at ease. We guide poses lightly, choose light and indoor or outdoor locations that suit the people involved, and suggest outfit ideas only as suggestions.
The finished gallery is delivered with print-ready files, so the gift can become frames on a wall or an album for the family.
Questions before you decide?
Tell us who the session is for. Share your date, location and coverage needs so we can prepare a scoped quote.
Planning photo and record together
When a gift includes both, we plan the moving pieces and the stills as one session so the recipient is not asked to do everything twice. Video moments such as a short conversation can sit beside a quiet portrait sitting in the same visit.
One operator cannot cover two moments at once. If the schedule calls for simultaneous coverage, additional operators are discussed at inquiry.
How we plan and cover your gifted session
A gift only works if the recipient feels welcome rather than put on the spot. Our process is written around the person receiving it.
Agree the terms at inquiry
You tell us who the session is for, what you want included and whether it is a surprise. We write down the scope, how and when the recipient will be contacted, the timing and a scoped quote. We ask for one contact on your side.
Bring the recipient in gently
With your approval, we reach out in the way you chose, whether that is a warm introduction or a planned reveal. We keep prompts simple, never ask anyone to memorize lines, and explain what the session will feel like.
Coordinate the practical details
We confirm the location, indoor or outdoor options, access, quiet spaces for conversation and anything related to family members who may join. If the surprise depends on others, we agree who knows what and who says what.
On the session day
We arrive ready, check light, sound and framing, and keep direction light. Children, grandparents and nervous participants are not made to pose. If video and photos are both included, we assign roles and bring additional operators when needed.
After the session
We explain how the video and gallery will be shaped, which formats are delivered and when review checkpoints happen. Delivery is arranged with you so the recipient receives the finished gift the way you intended.
Choosing video, portraits or both
Portraits suit someone who wants a gallery to keep and display. A video session suits someone whose voice, laughter and way of telling stories is the heart of the gift. Many givers choose both because a still and a moving memory do different jobs.
Tell us who the recipient is and what you hope they feel. We will suggest a fit without steering you toward more than you need.

Common questions
How does a gifted session work?
You inquire with us and share who the session is for. We agree the terms in writing: scope, how the recipient is contacted, who joins and the timing. Once you confirm, we bring the recipient in the way you chose.
Can the recipient be surprised?
Yes, if that suits them. We plan the surprise with you, including who knows, how the recipient hears about it and what we say. If you prefer the recipient to know in advance, we can introduce the session openly instead.
Does a gifted session need both photo and record?
No. A gifted session can be portraits only, a short video only, or both. We help you decide based on the person and the occasion, and agree the scope with you before anything is arranged.
How do we get a quote?
We prepare a scoped quote from the date, location and coverage needs you share. The terms of the gifted session, including who it is for and how the recipient is contacted, are part of the written arrangement we agree at inquiry.
