A couple smiling at each other during their wedding ceremony

Wedding highlight film

Wedding highlight film in Connecticut

A few minutes that hold the feeling of the day: the vows, the laughter, the faces of the people you love. A highlight film is the version you will actually watch again and share.

Starting with what the day meant to you

A highlight film is not a summary of the schedule. It is a few minutes about how the day felt. So we start by asking: what are you most looking forward to? Who do you want to see in the film? Which tradition or inside joke has to be in there?

We also ask what the film is for. Some couples share it with relatives who could not travel. Others want something to watch on their anniversary. The answer shapes the length, the tone and the music.

What we will ask you before the wedding

We ask who your closest people are, what songs matter, what traditions are part of your day and what you hope the film will show. We ask about moments that are easy to miss, such as a private exchange before the ceremony or a grandparent’s first look.

We also ask what you do not want. If some parts of the day should stay private, say so. The best film is one you feel comfortable showing.

Questions before you decide?

Tell us your date and venue and we will talk through what a highlight film could look like.

Preparing the people on camera

We meet with you before the day to understand your priorities and talk with your family about what to expect. Anyone who prefers not to be filmed can tell us. We also talk with your officiant and the venue about where we may stand during the ceremony.

Throughout the day we stay in the background. We give light direction only when it helps, such as a quiet minute for the two of you or a better position during the exit.

What goes into a highlight film

We choose a handful of moments that carry the day: a piece of the vows, a laugh during a toast, a hug on the lawn, a dance. We use the real sound whenever it adds to the moment.

Length is something we agree on in advance. Many highlight films run a few minutes, but there is no fixed number. A shorter film is easier to share, and a longer one leaves room for more voices.

  • The vows

A few lines in your own voices, with the faces of the people listening.

  • The reactions

Parents, grandparents and friends reacting. These are often the parts people watch twice.

  • The in-between

Small moments like laughing during portraits or sneaking a kiss after the ceremony.

  • The celebration

Dancing, toasts and the energy of the room when the night opens up.

  • Ashley and Anthony share a kiss while holding their bouquet beside the orange truck
  • Sophia and Tommy walk hand in hand between empty ceremony benches, seen from the side in the garden
  • Christina and Tajay framed by an arched window and an ornate stair railing

Locations and capturing the day

We plan cameras and sound for each location, whether it is a church, a barn, a beach or a ballroom. We ask about the schedule, the travel time between spaces, and any traditions that need extra attention.

We cover the day broadly within the scope we agree, and we focus on the moments you have told us matter most. We cannot promise to capture every moment, but we plan carefully so the important ones are covered.

  • Share your timeline, even a rough draft.
  • Tell us the locations and the travel time between them.
  • Mention any rules about cameras and microphones at your venue.
  • List the people and traditions you most want to see.

Who this film is for

A highlight film suits couples who want something short to share with friends and relatives, or who know they will watch the day again more often if it is brief. It also works well as an introduction to a longer edit, giving you a version for social media and a version for the family archive.

If you are unsure between the two, think about how you imagine watching. If it is on a phone with a friend, a highlight film suits you. If it is on the couch with your parents, a longer edit may fit better.

How the film reaches you

When the edit is ready, we send a link to watch and download it. We explain the file formats, how to share it with family and how to keep a safe copy. If you add social clips or a ceremony-only edit, they arrive together so they match.

Editing the film

Editing is choosing. We watch everything, pick the moments that carry the story, and cut them so the pace follows the emotion of the day. Music is selected to fit the mood and kept under spoken moments.

We share a first cut, listen to what you notice and make reasonable adjustments within the scope we agreed on. We confirm revisions and delivery in writing.

Highlight film or a longer edit

Some couples choose a highlight film alone. Others pair it with a longer documentary-style edit so they have both a short version to share and a full one to keep. If you are not sure, tell us what matters and we will talk through the options.

  • Sadie and Mat embrace beneath the willows in the evening
  • Mariana and Max kissing beneath an arbor at night
  • Ashley and Anthony sit together on the orange truck’s tailgate

Common questions

How long is a highlight film?

It varies. We agree a target length with you before the wedding and explain how the final edit may differ.

Can we choose the music?

We can talk through your preferences. Licensing and fit matter, so we guide the final choice.

Can we add a longer edit later?

Often yes, if the day was recorded for it. Tell us early so we plan the coverage.

Do guests appear in the film?

Yes. Candid reactions are a large part of a highlight film. Tell us if anyone should not appear.

When do we get it?

We give an estimate once we know the scope, and confirm it in writing.
