Holiday product and gift guide content
Holiday product and gift guide content videography and photography in Connecticut
A gift guide works when shoppers can see what a product looks like, how it feels and why it makes a good present. This is a planned production, not coverage of a live event. You bring the products and the goals, and we build a brief, a shot list and a schedule for video and stills together.
Gift guide videography built from a shot list
Our videographer works from a written plan, so every product gets the time it needs. Motion shots show a lid opening, fabric moving, a candle being lit or a set being unwrapped, and a branded gift-guide video can link those pieces into one clear sequence with your message and a closing call to action.
Because nothing is happening live, we can repeat a move until it looks right and keep lighting consistent from the first product to the last.
Motion shots
Short moves that show texture, scale and how a product is used.
Branded gift-guide video
A single piece that presents your picks in the order that suits your audience.
Short cutdowns
Brief versions of the main video for social or email, agreed at inquiry.
Product and gift set photography
Photography gives the shop, the email and the printed guide their stills. We photograph product detail up close, full products on chosen surfaces, and gift sets arranged so shoppers see what arrives in the box.
Styling is planned with you beforehand. Surfaces, colors and simple seasonal accents are chosen to support the product, never to compete with it.
- Clean product images for a shop or catalog page
- Detail close-ups of materials, finishes and labels
- Styled gift sets and bundles
- Lifestyle-style arrangements for guides and social posts
Questions before you decide?
Tell us about your products and where the content will be used. Share your goals, timing and where the content will be used so we can prepare a scoped quote.
How video and stills are planned side by side
Video and photography share the same set, lights and styling, so each product is set up once and captured both ways. We sequence the day around surfaces and lighting changes rather than around the format.
When a schedule has two setups running at once, such as a motion rig in one area and a still setup in another, we discuss a second operator in advance. One person cannot capture simultaneous setups well, and we would rather say so early.
How we plan and produce your gift guide content
Because this is a planned production, the work starts well before anything is photographed. Here is how video and stills come together, and who handles what.
Before the shoot
We ask who the guide is for, what the shopper should do after seeing it and which products matter most. Together we agree a brief, a shot list, the location, the deliverables and a scoped quote. You name one contact and supply the products; we handle the plan, the lighting and the production.
Preparing products and people
We ask for a product list in the order you want it shown, with names, variants and any wording that must appear. If hands or a presenter appear on camera, we explain the day in plain terms and avoid memorized scripts. Samples should arrive clean, complete and, where relevant, with spares.
Coordinating logistics
We confirm access, parking, power, space for surfaces and backdrops, and any brand guidelines for color and styling. If the shoot happens in a shop, kitchen or showroom, we agree the timing with the staff there. Anything the brand needs approved first is flagged early.
On the day
We arrive at the agreed time, build each setup, check light and framing, then move through the shot list. Motion and still capture are sequenced so each product is handled once, and we discuss extra operators when two setups must run together. Changes to the order are communicated as they happen.
After the shoot
We explain the planned edit, the still selection and the formats you will receive, including any vertical or short versions. Review and delivery checkpoints are agreed in the scope, along with how the content will be used. Anything not in the brief, such as design or posting, is confirmed separately at inquiry.
Choosing video, photos or both
A shop page may only need clean stills. A gift-guide video suits an email or social campaign where movement carries the message. Many brands want both, since the same styled setups can serve each channel.
Tell us where the content will live and who will see it, and we will recommend what fits. We will not push more than the plan needs.

Common questions
Who provides the products?
The brand supplies the products, ideally clean and complete, with spares for items that may mark easily. We bring the lighting, surfaces and production plan. If you would like help sourcing surfaces or simple styling pieces, we can discuss that at inquiry.
Is this the same as event coverage?
No. Event coverage follows a live schedule, while gift guide content is a planned production with a brief, shot list and schedule. That lets us control the lighting, repeat motion shots and keep every product consistent.
Can the same shoot produce video and stills?
Yes. Products can be set up once and captured both ways, which keeps styling consistent across the guide video and the shop images. When two setups need to run at once, we discuss an additional operator in the plan.
Do you handle design, posting or ad buying?
Those are separate from the production itself. We focus on the video and photography, and we can talk through anything else you would like at inquiry. Nothing is assumed to be included unless we agree it in the scope.
